OCEANSIDE, CA (March 9, 2022) – A DUI driver reportedly struck and injured a man in an accident on South The Strand on March 1.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near the Tyson Street Park shortly before 10:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, a 55-year-old suspected drunken driver veered his pickup off South The Strand. Then, he accelerated and struck a pedestrian before going over boulders along the street.
 
As a result, the 68-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident. Officers transported him to a hospital for treatment.
 
In the end, officials arrested the driver for DUI.
 
At this point, police don’t have additional information. Also, an investigation is still ongoing.
