SAN DIEGO, CA (December 22, 2021) – A woman suffered severe injuries in a pedestrian accident on Mira Mesa Road on December 15.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Camino Ruiz around 5:40 PM.
 
Based on a report from the Buttle and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, a 43-year-old man driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla was looking for a parking spot at the time of the crash. As he turned down an aisle, e struck the victim as she walked. Subsequently, the vehicle overran the victim, trapping underneath the Corolla until firefighters arrived and used tools to lift the car off her.
 
As a result, the 58-year-old victim suffered life-threatening internal bleeding, including a brain bleed. Immediately, paramedics then took her to a hospital for treatment.
 
As of now, the San Diego Police Department is still investigating the incident.
