Pedestrian Suffers Major Injuries after Hit by Car on Highway 67 in Ramona

 
RAMONA, CA (November 26, 2022) – A man was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on Highway 67 in Ramona early Monday morning on November 21.
 
The accident happened just before 1:20 a.m. just south of Rancho de Oro Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was walking west across traffic lanes when a Nissan Sentra struck him.
 
The 24-year-old driver from Ramona told investigators he was unable to avoid the pedestrian. They stopped after the crash.
 
The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. He was expected to survive.
 
Officers determined the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Investigators are awaiting toxicology test results to determine if the pedestrian was intoxicated.
