CORTEZ HILL, CA (October 26, 2021) – A man was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on Beech Street in Cortez Hill neighborhood Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 8:50 a.m. on October 24 in the 500 block of Beech Street. According to the San Diego Police Department, the 58-year-old man was asleep on the sidewalk near a driveway.
 
A 65-year-old woman driving a 2019 Ford Edge drove in the designated bike lane and turned into the Ace parking lot. She drove over the sleeping man.
 
The victim was rushed to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
