Red Light Runner Involved in Serious Motorcycle Accident on Market Street at 13th Street in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 22, 2022) – Police confirmed that a man suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident on Market Street on June 20.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 13th Street shortly before 5:00 PM.
 
Based on a report, a 42-year-old man driving a tow truck ran a red light at 13th. Subsequently, he hit the 29-year-old man riding a Triumph motorcycle. Officers said the rider had just crossed the street on a green light when the truck struck him.
 
As a result, the rider sustained life-threatening injuries such as a ruptured spleen, open fractures to the two bones in his lower left leg, and a fracture to his left foot. Paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment.
 
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. Also, an investigation is still ongoing.
