Man Suffers Multiple Internal Injuries after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Coronado Park

 
CORONADO, CA (January 10, 2022) – A man was injured in a hit-and-run crash at Tidelands Park in Coronado on Thursday evening.
 
The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on January 6. According to the Coronado Police Department, the 32-year-old man was working out in the parking lot when a pickup truck struck him.
 
The driver of the truck backed up and saw the victim, but fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and saw the man unresponsive. They rushed him to a hospital for treatment of multiple serious internal injuries. The victim went through several surgeries at the hospital.
 
Police described the truck as an F-150, a possible Raptor model. They added the suspect they are looking for is a white man wearing a black beanie.
 
The victim is a regular at the park, police said.
 
At this time, an investigation is ongoing. Police asked residents that live nearby with cameras to come forward or call Coronado Police at 619-522-7350.
