OAKLAND, CA (August 23, 2021) — A man suffered serious injuries in Saturday’s hit-and-run pedestrian accident on the 880 Freeway near High Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 1:23 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver hit a man reportedly stumbling in and out of the 880 Freeway lanes. Soon after, officers found the severely injured victim lying on the right shoulder.
 
However, the driver had left the scene prior, leading authorities on the search for his or her whereabouts.
