Police Searching for Suspect of Hit-and-Run on California Avenue Badly Injuring Man on Motorized Scooter

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 25, 2021) – A man on a motorized scooter was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash at East California Avenue and South King Street in East Bakersfield.
 
The incident happened around 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday last week, May 18. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers found the man lying on the roadway with moderate to major injuries.
 
A preliminary investigation revealed a driver of a light blue Nissan Versa made a left turn at the intersection. He then collided with the man on the scooter. After the crash, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
Police released images of the suspected vehicle Wednesday. It has black rims and damage to the rear passenger door and older minor damage to the bottom of the driver door.
