19-Year-Old Man in Critical Condition after Pedestrian Accident on Woodward Street in San Marcos

 
SAN MARCOS, CA (January 27, 2022) – A 19-year-old man sustained serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on Woodward Street, Tuesday morning.
 
According to the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station Traffic Division, the incident happened on January 25, at about 11:01 a.m. A pedestrian reportedly entered the roadway and was hit by a northbound vehicle in the 600 block of Woodward Street.
 
San Marcos Fire Department Paramedics transported the pedestrian to Palomar Hospital for treatment of severe injuries. As per reports, the victim remains in critical condition.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
Responders temporarily closed a section of Woodward Street to make way for an investigation.
 
San Marcos police ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
