Man Dies, Woman Hurt in Bakersfield Car Accident on Ming Avenue

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 5, 2022) — One man died while a woman was injured in a hit-and-run car crash on Ming Avenue near Ashe Road on Tuesday.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police, the fatal accident happened around 8:45 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver of an SUV fled the scene after colliding with a white Jeep.
 
Upon arriving, police and paramedics found one man at the scene with fatal injuries and a woman with moderate injuries. Soon after, paramedics shuttled the female patient to a hospital for immediate care.
 
Inferring from the investigation, police said the SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed before colliding with the Jeep. As a result, both vehicles sustained major damage, and the woman needed to be freed by firefighters.
 
At this time, officers have not stated if DUI played a factor in this accident.
