Oakland Car Accident on International Boulevard Kills One Driver, Sends Another to Hospital

 
OAKLAND, CA (August 22, 2021) – A man died in a two-car accident on International Boulevard in East Oakland early Sunday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:15 a.m. on August 22, near Seminary Avenue. According to Oakland police, the man was driving a Toyota Prius eastbound on International Boulevard when he collided with an Infiniti FX35 heading southbound on Seminary Avenue.
 
After the initial crash, the Toyota struck a building before coming to rest.
 
First responders pronounced the driver of the Toyota dead at the scene. Paramedics transported the 20-year-old female driver of the Infiniti to a hospital in stable condition.
 
Authorities only identified the deceased victim as a 33-year-old Oakland resident.
 
At this time, it is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. However, further investigation is underway.
