27-Year-Old Vacaville Man Dies after Crash on Highway 113 in Sutter County

 
SUTTER COUNTY, CA (October 4, 2021) – A man was killed in a two-car accident on Highway 113 north of Robbins Friday evening.
 
The accident happened just before 9:00 p.m. on October 1, near Pelger Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving a Ford Focus southbound on the highway. He crossed over the centerline for unknown reasons and sideswiped a northbound Ford F-150 towing a 20-foot-long trailer, driven by 34-year-old Rodrigo Ramos Torres.
 
After the initial crash, the Ford sedan then struck the leading edge of a trailer.
 
As a result, the man driving the Ford sedan died at the scene. He was a 27-year-old Vacaville resident, according to the Sutter County Coroner’s Office.
 
Torres was driving at approximately 55 miles per hour at the time of the crash.
 
At this time, it is unknown whether the deceased driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Torres was unhurt and was confirmed to have been sober.
 
This fatal crash remains under investigation.
