Early Morning Two-Car Accident on Highway 101 in Mountain View Leaves 1 Driver Dead

 
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (July 11, 2021) – A man died in a two-car accident on Highway 101 early Saturday morning.
 
The accident happened around 12:16 a.m. on July 3, near Moffett Boulevard north of Highway 85. According to the CHP, the man in his 40s was driving a Subaru when he collided with a BMW.
 
The impact caused the Subaru to lose control, strike a light pole and the highway sound wall. It then overturned and landed on its roof.
 
As a result of the crash, the man driving the Subaru suffered significant injuries. He died at Stanford Hospital. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release his identity once his family members are properly notified.
 
Meanwhile, the people in the BMW were not injured.
 
Officials said drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash at this time. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
