Two Cars Collide on 5 Freeway in Griffith Park Leaving 1 Person Dead
GRIFFITH PARK, CA (May 8, 2023) – A man died in a two-car accident on 5 Freeway in Griffith Park Saturday evening on May 6.
The fatal accident happened around 8:50 p.m. just south of the Colorado Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, two cars collided along the northbound lanes of the freeway.
Los Angeles Fire Department’s crews responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene. The victim was believed to be in his 40s. It is unknown if he was one of the drivers or a passenger.
The CHP issued a SigAlert in the area, shutting down the right three northbound lanes while they worked on the scene.
At this time, the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
