Fremont Man Dies when His Pickup Truck Hits Semi in Hemet
HEMET, CA (September 21, 2021) – A man was killed in a truck accident at Warren Road and West Esplanade Avenue in Hemet Monday morning.
The accident happened around 6:41 a.m. on September 20. According to the Hemet Police Department, the man was driving a white Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Warren when he crossed the double yellow line and drifted into oncoming traffic.
The driver of a semi truck swerved, but the left front of the pickup truck hit the left front of the semi. Both vehicles were traveling at approximately 55 mph, which was the posted speed limit.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the Silverado died at the scene. He was only identified as a 52-year-old Fremont resident.
There were no passengers in either vehicle, officials said.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
