Pedestrian Killed in Accident Involving Train near G Street in Merced

 
MERCED, CA (April 11, 2021) – Police confirmed that a man died in a pedestrian accident on the Union Pacific Railroad tracks on G Street on April 8.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near West 16th Street shortly before 9:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, the man was walking along the tracks prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a passing train struck him.
 
As a result, Merced police said the victim died in the incident. Officials did not yet release his identity, pending notification of next of kin.
