Man Dies in San Diego Solo-Car Crash on Highway 94

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 17, 2021) — A man died in a solo-car accident on Highway 94 at the 805 Freeway early Wednesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a driver in a gold Ford Explorer was heading westbound on the highway, transitioning onto the 805 Freeway. For unknown reasons, the Ford veered off the road, crashed and ejected the driver from the SUV when the SUV flipped onto the 805 Freeway.
 
As a result, the driver died at the scene. Shortly after, authorities closed three southbound lanes of the 805 Freeway to investigate the incident.
 
At this time, CHP has not released the fatal victim’s name or the ultimate cause, including if DUI played a role. Although, those with information should contact the CHP.
