Man Dies after Rollover Accident on Highway 4 in Martinez
MARTINEZ, CA (February 2, 2021) – A man died after a rollover accident on Highway 4 in Martinez Wednesday night, January 27.
According to California Highway patrol, they received reports of the crash just before 8:14 p.m. near Alhambra Avenue.
The initial investigation determined that the man was driving a Lexus sedan eastbound on Highway 4 when he drifted off the south side of the highway and overturned. The man was ejected from the car during the crash.
Arriving units rushed the driver to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, where the patient died shortly after.
The coroner’s office only identified the man as a 53-year-old Pittsburg resident. They will release his name once family members are properly notified.
There were no reports if there were other injuries in the accident.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
