Fatal Rollover Accident on 5 Freeway in Glenn County

 
GLENN COUNTY, CA (August 4, 2022) – A man died after a rollover accident on 5 Freeway in Glenn County on Wednesday afternoon, August 3.
 
The accident happened shortly before 1:00 p.m. just south of Orland. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2008 Cadillac Escalade was traveling northbound on the freeway when it overturned for unknown reasons.
 
The 41-year-old Pixley resident, who was not wearing his seat belt, was thrown from the car. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
A woman inside the car was unhurt.
 
It is unclear if the deceased was the driver or a passenger. It is also unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
 
Crews briefly shut down the northbound lanes of the freeway while they cleared the wreckage.
 
Further investigation is underway.
