Car Rear-Ends Semi on 15 Freeway in Baker Killing One

 
BAKER, CA (August 7, 2022) – A man was killed in a rear-end accident on 15 Freeway in Baker on Saturday morning, August 6.
 
The accident happened shortly after 5:30 a.m. near Halloran Springs Road and mile marker 148. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Mercedes-Benz sedan was speeding north when it collided into a semi tractor-trailer. It then became wedged underneath the semi.
 
A male occupant in the car suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
A female occupant in the car was pregnant. Mercy Air transported her to Las Vegas University Medical Center in an unknown condition.
 
The big rig driver was not injured.
 

This fatal crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office.
