Man Dies in Apple Valley Police Chase Accident on Iroquois Road

 
APPLE VALLEY, CA (April 9, 2021) — A man was killed in a police chase accident on Iroquois Road near Yucca Loma Road on Thursday afternoon.
 
According to a sheriff’s spokesperson, a deputy tried to make a traffic stop on a driver for a vehicle code violation. However, the suspect failed to comply and led the deputy on a short pursuit.
 
Subsequently, the suspect ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with an SUV. Due to the impact, the SUV overturned multiple times and landed on its roof in front of a home.
 
Shortly after, the Apple Valley Fire Protection District responded to the scene and extricated the male driver from his vehicle. He died moments after. Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol landed in a helicopter nearby to airlift the female driver to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for precautionary reasons.
