Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on South San Joaquin Street in Stockton

 
STOCKTON, CA (July 28, 2021) – A 40-year-old man died in a pedestrian hit-and-run crash on South San Joaquin Street in Stockton Sunday night.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:00 p.m. near the 400 block of South San Joaquin Street near Sonora Street. Police said the man was either walking or standing in the area when a vehicle struck him. The driver did not stop after the crash, leaving the victim with severe injuries.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the man to a hospital, where he later died. He was not yet identified.
 
On Monday afternoon, police released a surveillance image of the suspect vehicle, described as a late 90’s Toyota mini-van, light blue or gray in color.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run driver remains at large.
