Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Vehicle on Highway 178 in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 28, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 178 in Bakersfield on Friday morning.
 
Around 10:25 a.m. on March 25, CHP received a report of a body in the center divider of the highway, just east of Beale Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the man’s dead body. Evidence at the scene indicated that the victim was struck by a vehicle, but no information on the suspect vehicle or driver.
 
The identity of the victim and the exact time of the incident were not immediately available.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the fatality and on the lookout for the hit-and-run suspect. They asked anyone with information to call them at 661-396-6600.
