Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Christmas Eve along 5 Freeway near Gorman

 
GORMAN, CA (December 30, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run crash on Christmas Eve along 5 Freeway in Gorman.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:10 p.m. on December 24, just north of Highway 138. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
After hitting the pedestrian, the involved driver fled the scene.
 
First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. He was only identified as a 40-year-old Los Angeles resident, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner.
 
At this time, authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect. They asked anyone with information to call CHP in Fort Tejon at 661-248-6655.
