SAN DIEGO, CA (September 7, 2021) — A 50-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on Carmel Mountain Road on Saturday, September 4.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the man was crossing northbound across 10000 Carmel Mountain Road. Then a westbound 2017 Hyundai Elantra struck him just before 10:00 p.m.
 
The victim died at the scene.
 
There had been no reports if the officers cited or arrested the person driving the Hyundai.
 
Reports said the pedestrian walked outside a crosswalk and the crash site was in a dark area of the Rancho Penasquitos community.
