Man Dies in Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway

 
LA MIRADA, CA (October 28, 2021) — A man died in a pedestrian crash on the 5 Freeway near Alondra Boulevard Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 5:00 a.m. For unknown reasons, a male pedestrian ran across the northbound freeway before a 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling about 65 mph struck him. Subsequently, an oncoming Toyota Prius rear-ended the Tahoe.
 
Soon after, emergency personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the male pedestrian dead moments later. Meanwhile, the 38-year-old Murrieta man driving the Toyota, the 46-year-old man driving the Tahoe and his two passengers escaped harm.
 
At this time, authorities have not confirmed why the man ran across the freeway. However, an ongoing investigation continues of this pedestrian crash on the 5 Freeway.
