Fatal Car Accident Occurs on Ygnacio Valley Road in Walnut Creek

WALNUT CREEK, CA (October 18, 2021) – Police confirmed that a man died in a pedestrian accident on Ygnacio Valley Road on October 15.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Oak Grove Road shortly after 7:00 AM.
 
Based on an initial report, the man initially crashed his car into a sound wall on the south side of Ygnacio Valley. After that, he ran into traffic, in front of a vehicle. However, a vehicle struck him sometime after.
 
As a result, the victim died in the incident. Authorities did not identify the man immediately.
 
In addition, officers shut down the eastbound direction of Ygnacio Valley Road for nearly five hours.
 
At this point, an investigation is still ongoing. Also, no other details are available.
