Morning Pedestrian Accident near West Maude Avenue Ends in Fatality

 
SUNNYVALE, CA (May 5, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident near West Maude Avenue and Borregas Avenue early Wednesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 5:10 a.m. on May 5. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him. The impact caused him major injuries.
 
First responders gave medical aid but the victim died at the scene a short time later. His identity will be released following his formal identification by the coroner’s office and notification of next of kin.
 
The driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision.
