17-Year-Old Driver Strikes and Kills Pedestrian on Sweetwater Road in La Presa

 
LA PRESA, CA (January 24, 2022) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on Sweetwater Road in La Presa on Friday evening.
 
The accident happened around 7:10 p.m. on January 21 just south Jamacha Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian walked directly in front of a 2010 Volvo XC90 station wagon from a shopping center side of the street.
 
The Volvo, driven a 17-year-old man, then struck the pedestrian.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered major injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The teen driver and male passenger were not hurt. They remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
The circumstances of this fatal crash remain under investigation.
