Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Pickup Truck on Stony Point Road in Santa Rosa

 
SANTA ROSA, CA (November 30, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Stony Point Road in Santa Rosa Monday morning on November 28.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 5:30 a.m. at Wilfred Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking on the right shoulder of Stony Point Road, while a Ford Ranger was heading southbound.
 
The pedestrian walked directly into the road in front of the pickup truck. The driver of the Ford tried to avoid hitting the pedestrian but could not.
 
Fire crews responded and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of his family members.
 
The driver of the Ford pickup stopped and cooperated with officers.
 
The CHP said a second vehicle may have also struck the man while he was in the roadway but failed to stop at the scene. They are asking anyone with information about this crash to contact the Santa Rosa CHP office at 707-588-1400.
