Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Rosecrans Street in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 13, 2021) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on Rosecrans Street in San Diego Tuesday evening, May 11.
The accident happened around 8:45 p.m. near Garrison Street and Hugo Streets. According to the San Diego Police Department, the man was walking west from the east side of Rosecrans Street when a car struck him on the south edge of the crosswalk.
The vehicle was heading south on Rosecrans crossing Hugo Street on a green light when the collision occurred. The area is south of Liberty Station, west of the airport and northwest of Shelter Island in the Roseville-Fleet Ridge neighborhood.
The impact thrown the man about 50 feet. He died on the spot. His identity was not immediately available.
Meanwhile, the 21-year-old driver did not sustain any injuries.
