Early Morning Pedestrian Accident on Riverland Drive in Redding Ends in Fatality

 
REDDING, CA (July 6, 2021) – A man died in a pedestrian accident at Riverland Drive and Knighton Road early Monday morning.
 
The accident happened around 2:48 a.m. on July 5. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was crossing the intersection when a silver Toyota Corolla struck him.
 
As a result, the unidentified victim suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
It is unknown at this time if the involved driver stayed or fled after the crash.
 
The circumstances of the accident remain under investigation.
