Pedestrian Dies after Struck by 2 Cars on Ramon Road in Cathedral City

 
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (September 6, 2022) – A man died in a pedestrian accident at Ramon Road and Canyon Vista Road on Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 6:00 a.m. on September 4. According to the Cathedral City Fire Department, a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Ramon Road during the hours of darkness when the male pedestrian crossed the street outside of a crosswalk. It then struck the man.
 
After striking the victim, the driver pulled over and called 911. While on the call with 911, the driver witnessed a second vehicle strike the pedestrian and flee the scene.
 
The driver of the first vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
Police described the fleeing vehicle as a light gray or silver SUV.
 
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor. Anyone with information about this fatal crash is urged to call the Cathedral City Police Department at 760-770-0300 or anonymously through Coachella Valley Crime Stoppers at 760-1-STOP.
