Boyle Heights Pedestrian Accident on Pomona Freeway Ends in Fatality

 
BOYLE HEIGHTS, CA (April 10, 2021) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on Pomona (60) Freeway in Boyle Heights Thursday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on April 8 near the Lorena Street on-ramp. The male pedestrian was in the westbound lanes of the freeway when a vehicle struck him.
 
First responders attempted saving the pedestrian, who tragically died at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
The four right lanes of the westbound Pomona Freeway at Lorena Street and the Lorena Street on-ramp were closed due to the crash and a SigAlert was issued, according to Caltrans.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the accident.
