Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Vehicle on Notre Dame Boulevard in Chico

 
CHICO, CA (February 1, 2022) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on Notre Dame Boulevard in Chico on Saturday night.
 
The accident happened around 6:35 p.m. on January 29 near the Raley’s grocery store. According to the Chico Police Department, the male pedestrian was crossing Notre Dame Boulevard eastbound while pushing a shopping cart. The driver of a northbound vehicle did not see the man and struck him.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and found the pedestrian lying down in the roadway. They rushed him to a hospital, where the victim succumbed to his injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the involved driver stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
 
At this time, this fatal accident is still under investigation. Police urged witnesses to call the Traffic Division at 530-897-4970.
