24-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Newport Boulevard in Costa Mesa

 
COSTA MESA, CA (November 29, 2021) – A 24-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Newport Boulevard in Costa Mesa early Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened around 2:35 a.m. on November 25, just south of 17th Street. According to the Costa Mesa Police Department, the male pedestrian was walking in lanes of traffic when a northbound vehicle struck him.
 
The impact caused the man fatal injuries and he died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
Meanwhile, the driver involved remained on scene and cooperated with officers.
 
At this time, this fatality is still under investigation. Police did not rule out drugs or alcohol as contributing factors.
