Man Already Lying at New Stine Road and Belle Terrace Dies after after Struck by Vehicle

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 30, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident at New Stine Road and Belle Terrace in Bakersfield on Saturday evening.
 
Around 8:45 p.m. on May 28, emergency crews responded to the scene and found the man suffering from major injuries.
 
They took him to a hospital, where the victim later died.
 
The pedestrian will be identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office at a later time.
 
Meanwhile, the involved driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
According to police, their preliminary investigation showed the man who died was already down in the roadway before the collision.
 
Drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor. The Bakersfield Police Department is still investigating the accident. They urged witnesses to call them at 661-327-7111.
