Man Pushing Shopping Car Killed in Sorrento Valley Pedestrian Accident on Mira Mesa Boulevard

 
SORRENTO VALLEY, CA (June 14, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Mira Mesa Boulevard in Sorrento Valley Saturday just after midnight.
 
The accident happened around 12:07 a.m. on June 12, near the intersection with Flanders Drive. According to the San Diego Police Department, the man was pushing a shopping cart in the right hand lane of Mira Mesa Boulevard when a red Honda Civic traveling east struck him.
 
As a result, the man sustained two broken legs, a skull fracture and internal injuries. He died at the scene. Authorities will release his identity once family members are notified.
 
The driver stopped and cooperated with police.
 
At this time, this fatality remains under investigation.
