Driver Hits, Kills Pedestrian Waiting at Bus Stop near La Sierra Avenue and King Ranch Road in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (June 27, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident near La Sierra Avenue and King Ranch Road on Friday morning, June 24.
 
The accident happened around 10:00 a.m., according to the Riverside Police Department. The male pedestrian was seated at the Riverside Transit Agency stop when a 2015 Honda Civic going southbound on La Sierra went out of control, jumped the curb and hit him.
 
The Civic continued and also plowed into two parked cars.
 
The pedestrian suffered catastrophic injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The driver, a 25-year-old Riverside resident, was unharmed. Officers questioned him but did not arrest him.
 
At this time, it does not appear drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
