Stabbing Suspect Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 85 near De Anza Boulevard in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (January 27, 2022) – A man was killed following a pedestrian accident on Highway 85, early Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on January 26 at about 2:09 a.m. A man reportedly stabbed three adults on Tehama Avenue near Reid-Hillview Airport.
 
Then, the man fled from the crime scene in a vehicle.
 
At 4:48 a.m., officers received a call about a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on northbound Highway 85. Responders later confirmed that the pedestrian was the man involved in the stabbing incident.
 
The driver cooperated with investigators and claimed that the man jumped in front of his vehicle.
 
Emergency crews later pronounced the man dead at the scene. Authorities withheld his name, pending notification of next of kin.
 
CHP officers continue to investigate the fatal accident.
