Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 50 in Rancho Cordova

 
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (February 21, 2023) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 50 near Zinfandel Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol East Sacramento division, the deadly pedestrian accident happened around 7:15 p.m. Monday. For some reason, a pedestrian, described as a man in his 20s, was standing next to a vehicle parked on the shoulder. He proceeded to amble into traffic when an oncoming red Toyota, whose driver was unable to avoid the imminent crash, struck him.
 
Shortly after, emergency personnel responded and ushered the man to a hospital where he died from his critical injuries.
 
Officials did not confirm the cause and factors of the accident or information about the driver. However, we will update this report once we receive more information.
