Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 178

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 14, 2021) — A man died in Monday’s pedestrian accident on Highway 178 near Union Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 10:16 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, a semi-trailer struck a male pedestrian at the Union Avenue exit. Soon after, officers responded to the eastbound highway to find the victim lying in the middle lanes.
 
Not long after, they pronounced him deceased at the scene.
