Pedestrian Dies in Accident on Highway 1 in Ventura County

 
VENTURA COUNTY, CA (September 22, 2021) – Police confirmed that a man died in a pedestrian accident on northbound Highway 1 on September 19.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Wood Road around 11:16 PM.
 
Based on an initial report, the victim was standing in the no. 1 lane of the highway at the time of the crash. At the same time, a black 2011 Honda Accord was also on the road. Due to unknown reasons, the vehicle struck the victim. Subsequently, the impact threw the man into the no. 2 lane of the highway.
 
As a result, the victim died in the incident. Officials only identified him as a 43-year-old man. The 31-year-old Oxnard man who was driving the Honda was not hurt.
 
At this point, the cause of this pedestrian accident on northbound Highway 1 is still unclear. In addition, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
