67-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies after Struck by 2 Vehicles on Heath Road in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 5, 2022) – A 67-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Heath Road in Bakersfield early Friday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:10 a.m. on December 2, just south of Clarisse Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was walking northbound when a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck hit him. After the initial crash, the man remained seated in the roadway.
 
About a minute later, a 2019 Honda Civic also struck the man. The driver, 41-year-old Richelle Rodrigues, told officers that they were unable to see the man in the roadway.
 
The man, whose identity was not immediately available, died at the scene.
 
Alcohol or drugs are not a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
