Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Two Vehicles on Forty Mile Road in Yuba County
YUBA COUNTY, CA (December 6, 2021) – A 45-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Forty Mile Road in Yuba County on Friday evening.
The accident happened around 8:17 p.m. on December 3 just south of Rosser Road near the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The man was walking in the area when a southbound 1996 Toyota T100 pickup truck hit him. He suffered major injuries from that initial crash.
Another driver, a 55-year-old Marysville woman, brought her Toyota Highlander to a stop in the road in an attempt to block other traffic from hitting the pedestrian.
However, a 60-year-old Elverta woman in a Chevrolet S10 pickup truck crashed into the back of the Highlander, pushing it forward and striking the victim again.
The pedestrian died at the scene before first responders could arrive.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota pickup was unharmed. The other two drivers suffered moderate injuries.
The man’s identity is under investigation by the Yuba County Sheriff-Coroner. Authorities asked anyone with further information to call them at 530-749-7777.
We offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim.
