Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash on El Camino Real in Encinitas

 
ENCINITAS, CA (June 27, 2022) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on El Camino Real near Mountain Vista Drive on Friday afternoon.
 
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 3:45 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 61-year-old woman drove over a curb and through some bushes at the parking lot of Enterprise Bank & Trust.
 
Subsequently, her car struck a 44-year-old man lying near the bushes who died at the scene.
 
Shortly after, Sheriff’s officials responded and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI. However, a news release indicated that investigators have not determined if alcohol played a role.
