Pedestrian Running Across Clairemont Mesa Boulevard Fatally Struck by Car

 
CLAIREMONT, CA (January 24, 2022) – A 54-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in San Diego neighborhood on Thursday evening.
 
The accident happened around 7:10 p.m. on January 20, near Dolivar Drive and 805 Freeway overpass. According to the San Diego Police Department, a 2017 Nissan Sentra was traveling east toward the freeway when the male pedestrian ran in front of it from the center island of the roadway.
 
The Nissan then struck the pedestrian, causing the victim significant injuries.
 
Arriving paramedics rushed the man to a hospital, where he later died.
 
The driver of the Nissan, a 28-year-old woman, stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
