BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 20, 2024) — A man died in a pedestrian accident near Chester Avenue and Sandra Drive.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police officers, the deadly pedestrian accident happened around 11:50 p.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, a man was standing outside a marked crosswalk when a driver struck him.
 
Subsequently, police and paramedics arrived at the scene, but the victim passed away shortly after.
 
The driver involved stayed on site and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities determined that speed and impairment did not factor into the cause. However, anyone with information can call the Bakersfield Police.
