Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Several Vehicles on 8 Freeway in Mission Valley

 
MISSION VALLEY, CA (October 10, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on 8 Freeway in Mission Valley late Thursday evening, October 6.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:20 p.m. along the westbound freeway, just west of Mission Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was walking in the traffic lanes when a 71-year-old man driving a Nissan pickup truck hit him. Several other passing vehicles also struck the victim.
 
As a result, the pedestrian died at the scene. However, he was not yet identified.
 
The driver of the Nissan remained on scene. He is not suspected for DUI.
 
The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation.
