Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Sedan on on 5 Freeway in Mission Bay

 
MISSION BAY, CA (July 10, 2022) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway in San Diego early Friday morning on July 8.
 
The fatal accident happened around 1:55 a.m. just north of Sea World Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, a blue Hyundai sedan struck the male pedestrian in the northbound lanes of the freeway.
 
As a result, the unidentified pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The 27-year-old driver remained on scene and cooperated with officers.
 
At this time, it is unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
